I really love this app, may Allah SWT reward the creators of it. However, I’m really curious as to why there’s now a messaging feature. I don’t appreciate being messaged by random non-mahram men; it’s an unnecessary fitnah. I really can’t see any benefit to this feature whatsoever. I’d appreciate an explanation
I think what it was supposed to be for is leaderboards and friends to communicate and talk with each other even when they aren’t present together, although messaging opens up a lot of hazards, especially if the app will possibly be taken into schools in the future.
Maybe a “disable social features” in the settings could be implemented so that the people who want to talk with each other and compete through it can, while people who just want to focus on their spiritual learning can do so as well.
After some thought I think some sort of optional block for messages should be implemented quickly, since we don’t want to risk Kalaam’s reputation going up in flames because someone decided to use messages to harass or harm others.
Another small suggestion, should a feature be added in the future where classes of students have restricted access? There could be “classes” which are like leaderboards, but restrict the students to only messaging, friending, or playing games with each other
Probably something to add in the future after all the bugs and glitches have been fixed
I guess if people do find each other in challenges a lot they may want to talk to each other, or if someone does really well say Mashallah to them. Hopefully this addition does do a few things for some people
