Noun and verbs first

I have learnt chinese language before using such a platform. They have a strategy to teach the most common conversational words like noun, verbs, etc first. They teach conjunction, preposition, adverbs etc non-major words related to the major words later. This way it was quite easy for me to learn a new language.

But this app priorities non- major words first, like preposition, conjunction adverbs etc. Without knowing the context of major words the non-major words are really really difficult to learn.

I hope the Developers will try to rearrange the priority of words in future.

Thank you for the feedback. Actually the app teaches you all the words from surah fatihah first. It then proceeds to teach them in order of frequency. But I’ll take this feedback into account when rolling out grammar. It’s a good point.

Yes that could improve the ability to learn for many of the younger kids as they could learn in an order and it can help them to understand them better based on categorization and ordering, but I do like the way it’s taught right now, where you learn the words most often because you can quickly understand a lot more in the same time. From my experience learning from this app learning most occurring words was best as I could connect it with the ayahs in Surahs that I already knew. However everyone may learn much differently so I understand why people like to learn in this way. So it does seem like a good idea to have and option where you change the word order maybe in the future inshallah. I still learned over 90% of the Quran even from the older versions (January) and I really appreciate the app for giving me this new perspective and opportunity Alhamdulilah, may Allah bless you for making such a wonderful free app

To be honest, I don’t want to add too many options in the app as it can confuse the user. I don’t want to have the user think for themselves whether they should learn nouns or verbs first. I want to have good intelligent defaults that everyone benefits from. Let me think about this some more.

Yes the app still needs time to flourish and become even better, but right now I look at Kalaam and I see all these features are what people may like to explore. I wanted to understand the Quran. Compare Kalaam to Quranic, the app I used before, Kalaam is just amazing. Quranic asked for money and had a few problems and bugs and was harder to learn from. I really liked its reading rooms feature where you could listen others reading the Quran through a ā€œmeetingā€. Maybe in the future after some thought that could possibly get added inshallah. Kalaam is really like the way it is right now far more than many other apps I’ve seen similar to it so I think it that as long as you think through all these ideas people will be happy with whatever you choose inshallah.

Alhamdulillah great to hear. I only used Quranic briefly. How exactly does the reading rooms feature work and what do you like about it?

You have the option to create a reading room the person who creates it chooses the Surah they read.

Then after this people can join the room and listen to the people read

It may work or it may not but it is really interesting and not just for reading people could make sessions to help others learn its versatility is great and that’s what amazing about them.

So you can create or join one and listen to others recite Quran or teach.

I’m still not entirely sure of its purpose. Just a social thing? What do people mostly use it for?

From what I’ve seen people just create one and start reading the Quran and other people join to listen and correct. Some people try to educate others on rules too. It’s like a zoom or Microsoft meeting people use to improve knowledge by reading the Quran. For Kalaam it could be more of a discussion between groups or friends who can just challenge each other with verses from the Quran and try to understand the meaning or teachers using the app for some of their online classes. Lots of possibilities, so it will take time to think of the best way it could be used in Kalaam. It’s definitely a social thing. But for youth who have to do online classes this could even used as a place where they could talk with each other about the app. Its purpose is either teach, learn, understand, building friendship, and community engagement.
