I’m trying hard to adapt and I do appreciate the intention behind the new grammar based Challenge system.
But would it be possible to add a 5th type of Challenge which brings back the original algorithm for it? We already have 4 categories, I’d love it if there was a “Vocab Challenge” or “Original Challenge” which revives the old system.
To be honest, that challenge system has helped me process translations much faster and Alhamdulillah I’ve been doing so much better following the recitation in Taraweeh this Ramadan primarily because of the skills I picked up doing the original challenges.
Please consider bringing it back in some form or another.
Yeah I see how many people simply don’t like the grammar portion since it makes the challenges seem daunting and somewhat annoying
I think it could be simplified or go on to make grammar and vocab separate challenges, but my main concern here is that the youth will be very frustrated if they get it incorrect only because they chose “x” and not “x (subject of y)”
If this will be implemented into schools in the future (and Inshallah it does achieve the goal, it would benefit many people) something might have to be done so it doesn’t seem like a pressuring test while it is supposed to feel like an exciting challenge

Having an option to turn grammar off in the challenges would definitely help, but would this also bring back the ayah selection algorithm? I really benefited from the reinforcement of the new daily words in the challenge ayahs. It was nice to see the new vocabulary in action immediately.

It’s not urgent because now I can continue learning the way I was, but if you’re still interested in further feedback on the challenge system, I still prefer the old one that would show you vocabulary that you had just learned today, and I still prefer not having the reverse challenge option or at least extend the time that you get for both!
I think the reverse challenge adds a new element of thinking, although a lot are from my prioritized Surah and I just read the Arabic and know exactly what comes next
Exactly, one of the downsides of putting it in order of the ayah is you can know the ayah and then you’ll just start going based on what you know comes next, or even you just do it a couple times and you know what comes next.
Perhaps adding another activity where it gives you random parts. I do appreciate shuffling random ayahs, which does help solve this, but there’s still huffadh.
Inshallah going to improve the ayah selection algorithm shortly. It will prioritize ayahs with words that you’ve recently learned as well as trying to show you ayahs with unique words that you haven’t been challenged on too much.
