السلام عليكم
Have come across this card and the word’s meaning doesn’t seem to match the Ayah translation.
Have looked online but I can’t understand how in this case it is ‘to cause them to meet’ if it is also being protected?

وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته @iimaan ,
This is a translation/highlight error. The protection part you’re referring to (“will deliver them from the horror…”) relates to the first part of the ayah:
فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمِ
“So Allah will protect them from the evil of that Day…”
Regarding “to cause them to meet,” this is a translation of the word لَقَّى.
This also translates to: “to cause them to receive,” “to grant them,” or “to bestow upon them.”
وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا
“…and he caused them to receive radiance and joy.”
These translation issues will be resolved altogether in sha Allah.
In the meantime, I hope this clarifies it for you in sha Allah.
Assalaamu Alaikum, Raghda
JazakAllahu khayran!
Yes, this clears it up perfectly!
Wa Iyyakum!
Great, Alhamdllilah
