They said they are looking into it, so they are probably working to fix it. Most likely some type of problem in the whole algorithm that needs to be fixed so it could take some time, so inshallah they finish it quickly and until then we can wait and make dua that it comes out quickly
The system will now only give you new words if there is enough time given your daily time limit that is not entirely taken up by review words. If you have a lot of pending reviews, until you clear them, you will not see any new words. I hope that makes sense.
Salam Areeb, Not sure this makes sense, as when I increase my daily limit from 10 minutes to 20 minutes, it double my review words from 40, to 80 words.. I quite liked the previous version of - even though I selected 10 minutes a day, it gave me 50 review words, and 5 new words each day…
Unless I am missing something in relation to the review words in the new system, I’m not sure how I will ever get new words? thank you.
If you go from 10 to 20 minutes it will probably give you more review words (the 10 minutes of review you were supposed to do tomorrow)
If you do 10 minutes today (40 words review) and 10 tomorrow (another 40 words reviewed) you have 20 minutes which is 80, but since it’s daily it will give that 20 with 80 review every day
I don’t truly know how new words are working but I see how it’s kind of better not to have new words every single day, the same way in a school setting you have some days dedicated to practice while others are just lessons
People may start asking for some sort of “disable new word blocker” but it’s better you don’t forget those much older review words, just my opinion and I know people do disagree on this
That just means you have a lot of overdue review words. The old version would give you new words even if you had a lot of review words due, which is not ideal behavior for the same reasons that Shayaan mentioned. Learning lots of new words when you have a lot of reviews to do can get overwhelming. Adding to that review pile without ever clearing it is likely what’s happened, and it’s why you have so many pending reviews. People used to manually toggle the pause on learning new words on and off, but you shouldn’t really have to think about that. The system should adapt to the ideal use case. Once you get through all the pending reviews, you’re going to start enjoying your words.

Is there a way to determine how many review words i have left before I get to new words?
I feel receiving just 5 new words a day did not impact my ability to retain the existing words that I learnt. I believe the “in tandem” approach worked really well.
As sometimes there’s be a word in between two review words that I wouldn’t know, that would come up in my new words and then id easily understand that word due to its context, and it made it that much clearer in understanding, and then became an anchor point of understanding that word.

Try changing your daily time limit to the maximum allowed, I think 99 minutes, and that should fetch all pending reviews and show you the count.

Each time i try to update the time (higher than 30 minutes) the entire Application crashes.
Not sure if anyone else if experiencing this.
