I have not had any new words in over a month. I understand its the new algorithm about not granting new words until alll review words are completed, however its been about 5 weeks now… can we have an option to toggle new words?

That just seems to indicate that you probably have a lot of overdue review cards. You can go into the profile tab and try changing your daily time limit to the maximum allowed to see how many you have before it’ll start showing you new cards again. What is happening is a lot of users had a lot of reviews piled up because of the way that the old version used to work. And they kept learning new words without ever being able to catch up on reviews. So it’s kind of created a bit of a backlog for those users. I know it’s probably a bit boring to get through these reviews. But inshaAllah you will get through them soon and this way you will actually retain everything that you’re learning instead of piling on new words.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot and letting me know the custom number field isn’t letting you update. There was indeed a bug related to setting a custom daily limit that caused crashes on Android, which we’ve fixed.
Could you please tell me what specifically happens when you try to update the field (e.g., does it crash or just not save)?

Now, it does not allow me to select the custom number to edit it at all.
If I try to press the number to customise it, it does not select your become highlighted to be edited.
What seems to work for me is that when your review cards are finished and you click on new words..(the one where it asks if you want to learn more than you set learning time) click yes and it will give new items

Yes I have started to do that, maybe like once a week…but i felt i learnt so much more when it was giving me 50 review words, and 5 new words per day.
I found that extremely effective.
So I’m looking into why it’s not allowing you to change the custom daily time limit. Seems to be a device specific issue as you’re the first person who’s reported this.

I just tried again and still nothing.
Just confirmed it doesn’t work on my Pixel 8A either, tapping the custom field doesn’t make the keyboard popup

Can you try to tap precisly on the field with the number in it, so tap on the square itself and let us know what happens (if you haven’t been doing that already).

Ah! After tapping multiple times near the square it eventually opened up a scrolling type field where I can choose a number from the list.
The square is very finicky though it takes multiple attempts to open up the list.

Yes, it is finicky. It works best when tapping to the left/very start of the input box. Glad to know you were able to get through though, and thanks for trying and letting us know. JazakAllahu khair.
