Doesn’t the command (amr) form get formulated from the Mudhaari’ Anta (you), and not the Maadhi?
So I would have expected this not to say that the و is dropped, rather, هَبْ comes from تَهَبُ and the ت is dropped and sukoon added to the end to make the Amr form .
Please correct me if I’m mistaken here. Just hoping that the grammar rules aren’t misleading for students.

You’re absolutely right that in the traditional way of learning Arabic grammar, the command form is derived from the second-person present tense (mudhāriʿ anta), and that’s how it’s typically taught.
So you’re not incorrect in how you’ve explained it — but at the same time, the explanation given in the grammar card isn’t incorrect either.
The goal of Kalaam is to simplify Arabic grammar so that even someone with zero background can begin to understand the Qur’an without having to first master the technical framework. What you see on the card is a more natural and intuitive approach, which is closer to how early Arabs understood and used Arabic — through repetition, patterns, and context, rather than abstract rules.
In the app, it’s more of a “what you see is what it is” approach, while still preserving the meanings and functions of each form.
