I’ve been using the app for over 6 months and while it has many good features and has benefited me, I find that we need a third option besides ‘know’ and ‘don’t know’. There are words that require more time to memorize and I don’t have the time to do that in the current lesson. I use the app as a daily 10 min practice to improve my vocabulary but find the binary options counterintuitive making me dislike the experience. Which results in me not using it daily. Can you add a swipe up or down for ‘hard words’ that get put into a separate bucket for later review? I can’t imagine I’m the only one that feels this way. Jazakallah
I feel this way too especially for larger and more difficult words. A separate place for them may work out for many people. Right now the best thing to do is keep swiping don’t know as it resets and goes through the whole process again at the end of the lesson. If you keep swiping “don’t know” m you may start to remember it better. That’s basically what we have now
A good compromise might be that after two left swipes for the same word, it gets put into a ‘difficult words’ bucket that will be presented again in the next lesson or as a separate ‘difficult words’ practice session. Otherwise, I find myself just giving up and swiping right because I can’t keep the session going indefinitely until I learn all the words.
Adding a swipe-down option for difficult words would really improve the user experience for me (and others, I presume). This would encourage usage of the app, ultimately improving long-term learning. Not to mention, it would make me much more likely to use and recommend the app to others.
Wsalaam, plus 1 for this feature. A separate bucket for hard words to review later would add to an awesome user experience already.
What I’ve been doing is copying my hard words to an external note on my phone and reviewing it outside of the app. I review these words before I begin my lesson for the day.
