New Top 10 Badge

I think for global and national, or perhaps any location with more than 1000 users a Top 10 weekly badge should be given. The top 3 becomes harder and harder to achieve especially as they are dominated by “the obsessive”. Top 10 is an achievement and keeps more people more engaged.

Now I remember the older days or Kalaam where I was 5th in global leaderboard. It was harsh to know that once I had 5th place on global leaderboard but no one knew

We plan on automatically inviting people into leaderboards created out of the 10 closest people geographically to them. Winning that particular leaderboard will be far easier. It will also start creating some brother/sisterhood locally inshaAllah.

You’re right, top x of any popular place will become increasingly harder. Increasing top 3 to top 10 will later result in requests for top 50 etc lol.

That’s not necessarily a bad thing. …. To go with a top 10, then top 50 etc…

That said, another approach is as you have said, or even a top 1%/ top 10% badge.

Another idea is to simply have a weekly or monthly or yearly “report card”.

Ie This week you learnt x and you gained y points putting you in the top 50%, or top 10% etc…

Not sure how much work that is, but everyone is proud of receiving a good report… I pray you receive one in your right hand on the Day! Ameen

To reach the top 3 in the world, is extremely difficult, because there are a few people who spend a lot of time in the app, Allahuma barek lahum. On the other hand, some national leader boards are not that populated.

Maybe you could introduce regional leaderboards, like Europe, South East Asia, etc. It might increase the competition in underpopulated countries?
